USWC: Terminal closures over July 4 may bring delays, congestion

A holiday weekend & ILWU meetings could see delays & congestion at California's container terminals
Beginning today through 7/11, there will be a series of closures and work stoppages at several California ports and container terminals due to the Independence Day holiday and ILWU meetings.
Approximately 9 work shifts will be lost during this time which may cause delays and congestion.
TERMINAL CLOSURES
ITS - CLOSED on the following dates:
- Tuesday - 6/25 - 2nd shift.
- Wednesday - 6/26 - 1st shift.
- Thursday - 6/27 - 2nd shift.
YTI - CLOSED on the following dates:
- Wednesday - 6/26 - 1st shift.
- Thursday - 6/27 - 2nd shift.
HOLIDAY CLOSURES
ALL TERMINALS - CLOSED on the following dates:
- Thursday – 7/4 - Both shifts.
- Friday – 7/5 - Both shifts.
ALL TERMINALS - CLOSED on the following dates:
- Possible Stop Work Meeting – Thursday 7/11 – 2nd shift.
These closures and the resulting congestion may affect our ability to retrieve containers from the ports.
UWL will not be responsible for any additional charges that may occur from this situation, as it is out of our control.
We will do our best to secure available appointment slots to protect your Last Free Day Demurrage windows, and will communicate any delays or issues pulling containers, should we encounter them.
