Sun Chief Express Completes Sustainable Biofuel Trial on Transpacific Service

Cleveland – UWL , Inc. is proud to announce the successful completion of a sustainable B24 biofuel trial on the Sun Chief Express service, in partnership with Swire Shipping, a leader in innovative ocean shipping solutions. An award-winning collaboration between the two companies, the Sun Chief Express service provides the fastest direct ocean connection between Vietnam and the United States, linking Haiphong and Ho Chi Minh to Seattle, with connections in North America, as well as Cambodia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The MV Suva Chief, a vessel on the Sun Chief Express service, was bunkered in Hong Kong with B24 biofuel, a blend of sustainable biodiesel from waste origins and conventional fuels. This trial brings a direct carbon reduction solution to the service and was made possible through the combined efforts of key Swire Shipping partners, marine fuel supplier Chimbusco Pan Nation Petro-chemical Co Ltd (CPN) and bunkering partner, Hafnia Bunkers.
