Ocean Freight Update: PN4 Changes from ONE

Schedule Update on ONE's Pacific North Loop 4 (PN4)

A recent update from Ocean Network Express (ONE) reported that two crew members from the vessel Sofia Express, deployed on the PN4 service, have tested positive for COVID-19 while the vessel was at anchor at the port of Vancouver. They have been isolated and were taken to an quarantine facility onshore. Local authorities were notified and all other crew members on the vessel are being monitored and tested as required.

This vessel's berthing in Vancouver, which was already delayed due to terminal congestion, has been delayed further due to COVID-19. However, the ship is still expected to continue her voyage shortly towards Pusan.

Bad weather in the Far East and severe terminal congestion in the Canadian ports (covered in our last market update) have led to recent PN4 delays. This update further worsens the PNW space situation. Expect delays to continue for at least the next few weeks.

If you have any hot PNW shipments that cannot be delayed, we advise considering alternative carriers at this time due to these developments. Please contact your UWL representative with any urgent PO's to protect.

ONE has also announced schedule changes for the following vessels:

  • FRANKFURT EXPRESS 0065W
  • NAGOYA EXPRESS 0060W
  • HYUNDAI BRAVE 0089W
  • HYUNDAI TOKYO 0126W
