The storm is tracking to make landfall in Louisiana between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Torrential rainfall is expected over much of eastern Louisiana into parts of southern and central Mississippi and southeastern Arkansas.
Accuweather forecasters predict that the most likely scenario is that Barry will make landfall as a strong tropical storm, but the National Hurricane Center (NHC) did issue a hurricane warning for a large portion of the Louisiana coast from Intracoastal City to Grand Isle. There is a small chance that it could still become a hurricane.
Either way, this storm is packed with rain and flooding remains the biggest concern. Barry could dump up to 24 inches of rain across the region as it makes its way onshore.
